If you’re in for a little more adventure, The Living Desert is south on Portola, or head north to the Coachella Valley Preserve. The Palm Springs Art Museum that’s in Palm Desert is a great way to spend a couple of hours, same with the Aerie Art Garden.
Head a bit west to Palm Springs, and there’s the excellent Palm Springs Air Museum, as well as the world famous Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. If you want to take the tram, I highly recommend that you buy tickets beforehand.
If you just want to take a drive, head up Highway 74, if you have a performance vehicle or motorcycle, you’ll love it. If you don’t you’ll still love it. The views are incredible, and you’re likely to see some exotic cars.
Want a little exercise with a view, then go visit Palm Canyon. The full hike is 15 miles long, and it’s beautiful.
